【摘要】:Thistestmethoddifferentiatesamongsolidelectricalinsulatingmaterialsforuseatcommercialpowerfrequencieswithrespecttotheirvoltageenduranceundertheactionofcorona(seeNote1).Ingeneral,thistestmethodismoremeaningfulforratingmaterialswithrespecttotheirresistancetoprolongeda-cstressundercoronaconditionsthanisdielectricstrength.Note1-Theterm"corona"isusedalmostexclusivelyinthistestmethodinsteadof"partialdischarge",becauseitisavisibleglowattheedgeofthesmallerelectrode.Thisisadifferenceinlocation,notinkind.Partialdischargesalsooccurattheedgesofelectrodes,andingeneralcoronadescribesanelectricaldischargeirrespectiveofitslocation.ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Forspecifichazardstatements,seeSection7.
