【摘要】:Heattransferfluidsdegradewhenexposedtosufficientlyhightemperatures.Theamountofdegradationincreasesasthetemperatureincreasesorthelengthofexposureincreases,orboth.Duetoreactionsandrearrangement,degradationproductscanbeformed.Degradationproductsincludehighandlowboilingcomponents,gaseousdecompositionproducts,andproductsthatcannotbeevaporated.Thetypeandcontentofdegradationproductsproducedwillchangetheperformancecharacteristicsofaheattransferfluid.Inordertoevaluatethermalstability,itisnecessarytoquantitativelydeterminethemasspercentagesofhighandlowboilingcomponents,aswellasgaseousdecompositionproductsandthosethatcannotbevaporized,inthethermallystressedheattransferfluid.Thistestmethoddifferentiatestherelativestabilityoforganicheattransferfluidsatelevatedtemperaturesintheabsenceofoxygenandwaterundertheconditionsofthetest.Theusershalldeterminetohisownsatisfactionwhethertheresultsofthistestmethodcorrelatetofieldperformance.Heattransferfluidsinindustrialplantsareexposedtoavarietyofadditionalinfluencingvariables.Interactionwiththeplantrsquo;materials,impurities,heatbuild-upduringimpairedflowconditions,thetemperaturedistributionintheheattransferfluidcircuit,andotherfactorscanalsoleadtochangesintheheattransferfluid.Thetestmethodprovidesanindicationoftherelativethermalstabilityofaheattransferfluid,andcanbeconsideredasonefactorinthedecision-makingprocessforselectionofafluid.Theaccuracyoftheresultsdependsverystronglyonhowcloselythetestconditionsarefollowed.Thistestmethoddoesnotpossessthecapabilitytoquantifyorotherwiseassesstheformationandnatureofthermaldecompositionproductswithintheunstressedfluidboilingrange.Decompositionproductswithintheunstressedfluidboilingrangemayrepresentasignificantportionofthetotalthermaldegradation.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationofthethermalstabilityofunusedorganicheattransferfluids.Theprocedureisapplicabletofluidsusedforthetransferofheatattemperaturesbothaboveandbelowtheirboilingpoint(referstonormalboilingpointthroughoutthetextunlessotherwisestated).Itisapplicabletofluidswithmaximumbulkoperatingtemperaturebetween260176;C(500176;F)and454176;C(850176;F).Theprocedureshallnotbeusedtotestafluidaboveitscriticaltemperature.Inthistestmethod,thevolatiledecompositionproductsareincontinuouscontactwiththefluidduringthetest.Thistestmethodwillnotmeasurethethermalstabilitythreshold(thetemperatureatwhichvolatileoilfragmentsbegintoform),butinsteadwillindicatebulkfragmentationoccurringforaspecifiedtemperatureandtestingperiod.Becausepotentialdecompositionandgenerationofhighpressuregasmayoccurattemperaturesabove260176;C(500176;F),donotusethistestmethodforaqueousfluidsorotherfluidswhichgeneratehigh-pressuregasatthesetemperatures.1.2DINNorm51528coversatestmethodthatissimilartothistestmethod.1.3Theapplicabilityofthistestmethodtosiloxane-basedheattransferfluidshasnotbeendetermined.1.4si-value;Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Forspecificwarningstatements,see7.2,8.8,8.9,and8.10.
